Environmental information systems
This section presents some of the solutions for protecting and restoring Europe’s seas. It includes large scale solutions such as implementing an ecosystem-based approach to management across a regional sea and applying a balanced approach to maritime spatial planning to achieve a sustainable use within the limits of Good Environmental Status, as well as more local nature-based solutions such as restoration of habitats, inclusion of nature-friendly design of maritime structures and establishment of wetland areas to reduce nutrient loads.
These solutions will be presented in the context of EU policies and legislation.
